This post is available as part of a Newton Fund project with an aim to develop an energy-efficient and resilient wireless communications based IoT, which can be applied to agriculture. The goal of this project is to solve the pressing problems in relation to the increasing demand for higher capacity of future-generation wireless networks and to design an energy-efficient and resilient IoT-based solution in order to establish a sustainable agricultural ecosystem (IoT-RESA). The appointee will be expected to undertake research into the investigation and development of solutions in the area of Communications Signal Processing and to be an active member of the research project/team to ensure the success of the project. The research fellow will work directly with Dr. Trung Q. Duong.
The position is available from 1st July 2018 and will be conducted at Centre for Wireless Innovation, Global Research Institute (GRI), The Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS).
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in relevant discipline, such as Electronics, Electrical Engineering, have a background and expertise in wireless communications, optimisation, energy-efficient communications, and IoT.
- Salary: £32,548 – £38,833 per annum (potential to progress to £42,418 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
