UK-Vietnam Workshop on Vertical IoT Solutions in Disaster Management

On 4 December 2019, the 2nd UK-Vietnam Workshop on Vertical IoT Solutions in Disaster Management was held at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), Belfast, UK. It is our privilege and great pleasure to welcome the participants from Vietnam and UK who are here to exchange the experience and share the knowledge and research results on the field of IoT solutions in disaster management.

At the workshop, Prof. Emma Flynn as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, Prof. Trung Q. Duong from QUB; and Dr. Tran Quang Hoai (Director of Vietnam Disaster Management Authority), Prof. Trinh Minh Thu (President of Thuyloi University), Prof Nguyen Trung Viet (Vice president of Thuyloi University), and Dr. Le Quang Tuan (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) from Vietnam; as well as other experts from QUB have discussed and shared in details about the experiences in and solutions for disaster management and proposed some collaboration projects in Vietnam in the near future.

After the workshop, on 6 December 2019, the participants led by Prof. Trung Q. Duong continued to visit and work with the Emergency Preparedness Group, the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, and the Department for Infrastructure in Belfast.
